Jessie Rose - My Story
I grew up drawing and creating things, it's in my blood to create and to want to make something beautiful out of nothing.
However It wasn't until 2008 that I really took it seriously and started to find my own style, having my first solo exhibition ‘Metamorphosis’ which was a great success. Since then I have gone on to have several exhibitions throughout New Zealand and in 2012 launched an ever-expanding range 'Jessie Rose' including clothing, jewellery, accessories, prints, stationary, cards and calendars etc.
I have a boutique store in Kamo, Whangarei, as well as an online Clothing. made to order site that offers worldwide shipping.
After the death of a loved one in 2015, I began hand painting caskets and urns 'Forever Love Caskets' through leading North Island Funeral Homes. Families can choose from 4 feminine designs, as well as 2 unisex options.
In 2017 I opened 'Inspire' from my premises in Kamo, Whangarei. My art classes are available for adults and children aged 8 and over. We run 13 classes (Day time and after school/evening classes) a week. Through Inspire I have found a passion for teaching individuals to develop their creative thinking and confidence, encouraging individuality through art -letting my students know it's ok to be different and leading by example as I express myself through art.
Then in 2022 I created an Online Drawing Course to be able to reach those outside of my Inspire art classes.
On a personal level – I have a 23yr old daughter and am a Nana to a beautiful wee boy. I live in Whangarei, Northland.
